Dr. Peter Sveshnikov, Head of the Biotechnology Department and Director of RCMDT

Dr. Sveshnikov is the Head of the Biotechnology Department and Director of Molecular Diagnostics and Therapy of the Research Center for Molecular Diagnostics and Therapy (RCMDT) in Moscow, Russia.  He has more than 20 years experience in antibody production to infectious agents, toxins and clinical analytes.

Dr. Sveshnikov expertise is the production and characterization of monoclonal antibodies, the development of new methods of recombinant and natural proteins purification for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes, the development of fast immunoassays, and the production of humanized mini-and full size antibodies for therapy. 

Dr. Sveshnikov and his team are experience Federal government contractors with DoD/DTRA, DARPA and DOE from 1998 to the present primarily for antibody production and immunoassay development. In 1991, Dr. Sveshnikov was awarded a medal for outstanding achievements in research work from the Russian Ministry of Health.  In 1997, he was awarded the Medal for Valiant Labor of the Government of Moscow “850 years of Moscow.” 

Dr. Sveshnikov is a Member of the Russian Biochemical Society and a Corresponding member of the International Academy for information processes and technologies.  He is the author of 49 peer-reviewed papers and patent applications.  Dr. Sveshnikov’s graduate degree is in Biophysics from the Moscow State University.
